Wet Tropics World Heritage forests
The World Heritage Wet Tropics comprises a number of different landscapes including:
- Wet Tropics Rainforest - 67%
- Wet and Dry Sclerophyll forests 28%
Typically rainforest has a closed canopy where little sunlight reaches the forest floor. As a result the rainforest floor mainly comprises damp leaf litter.
By contrast Wet and Dry Sclerophyll forests are dominated by Eucalypts, and open canopies. Because large amounts of sunlight reach the ground, dry grasses and fires are commonplace.
With Food Trail Tours you will travel through all of these landscapes.
